9 Night Sky Painting Ideas

I love painting night skies, and wanted to share some night sky painting ideas with you! Painting night skies is more than just painting a black sky. You can infuse your night sky paintings with clouds, stars, moons and colour to create a really interesting painting. Here is a list of night sky painting ideas to try for your next painting!

Materials Needed for Night Sky Paintings 

  • Cup of water

  • Palette

  • Number 6 round brush

  • Round detail brush

  • One inch flat brush

  • Rag 

  • Titanium white, mars black, cobalt blue, cadmium yellow and cadmium red paint 

  • Can add an iridescent pearl for stars or a silver paint
