Nature Sketching: Go outside and draw what you see in nature – trees, flowers, animals, or landscapes. Check out my best selling - nature mandala resource by clicking here! 



Still Life Drawing: Arrange objects around your house, like fruits, vases, or books, and draw them. You can have your child or teen set up a display and then take a photograph so that they can draw the arrangement later.

Portrait Drawing: Draw a portrait of a family member, friend, or even yourself using a mirror. Your child or team can use whatever materials they have on paper they can use pencil pencil crayons charcoals or even paint on a canvas. Download my FREE portrait drawing for high school here!


Imaginative Drawing: Let your imagination run wild and create fantasy creatures, landscapes, or abstract designs. Your child and team could even drop their dream they can create a mind map to brainstorm ideas. They can pull inspiration from fantasy novels or fictional movies they can draw their own made up characters and made up lands. You can show them inspiration from surrealist paintings and left and explore colour using various coloured supplies like pencil crayons pastel markers and watercolour paint.


Figure Drawing: Practice drawing people in different poses. You can use action figures or dolls as models. I have a free figure drawing resource that you can download by clicking the button below.


Pattern Making: Create intricate patterns or mandalas on paper, exploring different shapes and symmetries. You can check out my Zentangle art resource by clicking here.



Urban Sketching: Visit a nearby park, café, or street and sketch the architecture and people around you. Check out my different architecture symmetry drawing by clicking on the button below.


Comics and Storyboarding: Create your own comic strip or storyboard for a short story. Your child can add colour to their storyboard or comic.



Daily Journal Drawing: Keep a daily sketch journal where you draw something related to your day. There are lots of sketchbooks available at the dollar store encourage your child 14 to carry their sketch for sketchbook with them when you go on adventures or you are traveling to new places.



Animal Sketching: Draw pets, wildlife, or animals from reference photos in books or magazines. You could even bring your sketchbook to a farm or a local zoo.



Art from Memory: Draw a place you’ve visited or an event from your memory. You can encourage your child Martin to add a collage and used photographs from their favourite memories. 



Object Transformation: Draw ordinary objects transforming into something extraordinary, like a chair turning into a creature.



Blind Contour Drawing: Without looking at your paper, draw an object in front of you in one continuous line. They can choose to draw anything they like- such as a person, a pet or a landscape. This is a great technique to let go of perfection and allow your child or teen to have fun! 



Character Design: Create and draw characters, giving them unique traits, outfits, and backgrounds.

Inktober Prompts: Use prompts from the Inktober challenge to inspire your daily drawings. Or have your child or teen brainstorm their own list of daily prompts. You can check out my list of drawing prompts for teens here! 



Historical Art Recreation: Recreate famous artworks in your own style or reimagine them in a different setting. Take a look at an art history textbook for inspiration! 



Interactive Art: Create a drawing that others can contribute to or finish, like a collaborative doodle. You can get all the students in the class to participate or family members at home. Everyone can add a little bit to the drawing and join in! 



Doodle Pages: Fill entire pages with doodles, exploring different themes or just random thoughts.  You can check out my Zentangle art here!

Texture Studies: Draw different textures like wood, fabric, metal, or glass, focusing on how light interacts with them.
