During the month of November I like to do a lot of poppy art for students for Remembrance Day. Poppy art for students is a great way to celebrate and educate about Remembrance Day in the classroom. To learn more about some poppy art for students and ideas - keep reading!

Poppy Art for Students - Middle School

This poppy painting is perfect for middle school students in grade 4 and up. This is an easy beginner painting with no painting experience needed. I used acrylic painting for this tutorial but you can use watercolour paint or pastels if you would like. You can watch this poppy art for students by clicking here!

Poppy Art for Students -High School

This poppy art for high school students is a bit more difficult and uses a palette knife to complete the painting. You don’t have to use a palette knife if you don’t want to. You can watch this acrylic painting tutorial by clicking on the video below.


Poppy Art for Primary Students 

Here are some ideas for poppy art for primary students in grades 3 and under to try! 

  • Make tissue paper poppies using red and blak tissue paper

  • Make a wreath out of poppies to hang on the door of your classroom for the month of November

  • Sculpt poppies out of plasticine 

  • Do a drawing of a poppy with pastels or other art supplies

  • Use an egg carton cup to make poppies 

  • Use a cupcake liner to make poppies 

  • Write a letter or make a card for a veteran
